Two lectures on privacy policies for entrepreneurs held

In order to raise the awareness for protection of internet users’ privacy among the members of key target groups, the Metamorphosis team held two presentations in the autumn of 2011 as part of the trainings for opening e-shops, organized by Exquisite in the Yes Incubator.

Presentations included familiarization with the legal obligations regarding the protection of personal data by presenting the resources developed within the project Online Privacy Initiative (OPI), such as ‘Privacy pledge’ and the guide "How to make a privacy policy" .

The presentations were held at the premises of the Yes Incubator in the settlement of Aerodrom in Skopje on September 27, 2011 with 12 participants and on December 5, 2011 with 9 participants. Two presentations of this type have already been held in May and July, attended by 39 participants.

In the discussion after the presentations, the participants, including representatives of renowned companies trading offline and willing to start working online, as well as young entrepreneurs who have opened an e-shop as their first business venture, were interested about the legal obligations and projected penalties, and about general privacy related issues such as corporate espionage.
