The Metamorphosis Foundation and the International Institute for Peace and Human Rights from Caen are organizing an international conference on the topic ‘Freedom and privacy on the internet’, on May 21-22, 2012. The event is organized within the framework of the long-term project for decentralized cooperation between Macedonia and the Lower Normandy region supported by the France-Balkan Network, and will be held in City Hall in Skopje. |

On March 28th, at the “Porta” hotel in Skopje, the association “Open the Windows” held the conference “For e-Accessible Primary Schools: Assistive Technology in Primary Education in Macedonia”. Over a hundred participants were unanimous in assessing that assistive technology significantly improves the educational opportunities for students with disabilities. The conference was opened by Robert Wuertz, USAID Mission Director in Macedonia, and Mrs. Natasha Janevska, State Advisor of the Ministry of Education and Science. The distinguished guests used the opportunity to present the awards to the most successful students who had participated in the contest “The computer – my window to the world” (Macedonian language only).

In 2009, the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) launched a project to support the legislative initiatives of civil organizations in the Republic of Macedonia. In the years that followed the program was expanded and NDI is currently working with eleven organizations. |

The Get Online Week European campaign started on March 26, 2012, aiming at promoting the benefits of digital inclusion and attracting new users of computers and internet. The campaign, supported by the European Commission, is simultaneously conducted in over 30 countries in Europe and Euroasia, including Macedonia for a second year running.
